For 34 years, Cognizart by MetroArts Inc. 360 Arts Camp has given kids a chance to be immersed in visual arts, music, theater, and dance Monday through Friday. This is 360 Arts Education!
All campers must follow instructions, participate, collaborate with others, read and write, and be respectful self-managers. The overall lesson plans and daily goals for creation for all ages are similar, with age-appropriate challenge-level to keep the artistic spark alive.
In addition, we keep group sizes small to enable the most fun and creative environment! Each group is comprised of no more than 15 campers.
Campers ages 6 1/2 to 8
Lesson plans for younger campers focus on encouraging natural creativity, fearlessness, and gifts. Younger campers are often paired with Counselors who can help to ignite confidence and assist with reading or writing.
Campers ages 9 to 11
Lesson plans for older campers allow for the opportunity to explore and collaborate with peers. Older campers create more complex artistic projects, try new things, and showcase their unique talents and gifts.
Campers age 12
These older campers create even more complex artistic projects tailored to their interests. They are also eligible to serve as "Counselors in Training in Training" if they would like to consider being a Counselor the next year.
Counselors
Counselors in Training, In Training (final year as a camper), and Counselors in Training (13+) participate in fun artistic experiences while helping to guide younger campers. They also earn volunteer hours. The majority of Counselors are previous campers who want to continue to join in the fun! These peer-to-peer engaging positions are life-changing and are highly sought after. There is no cost to participate, although an application is required. Register to be a Counselor now!
What happens at 360 Arts Camp?
Campers arrive between 8:40 a.m. and 9 a.m., participate in fun warm-up exercises, and receive the schedule for the day.
Monday through Thursday, campers create art in two disciplines (visual arts and music, for instance) in the morning and two in the afternoon (theater and dance, for example). To keep things fun and engaging, the order of the disciplines alternates each day.
On Friday, guest artists perform and workshop with our campers. Previous Friday Artists include Adam Eccleston, Jin Nakajima of Takohachi, Journey Brazil, En Taiko, Natya Leela Academy, Inka Jam, New Beginnings Alex Addy & Michael Akoto, and Mic Crenshaw.
The rest of Friday finds campers working collaboratively to create a cohesive performance utilizing the newfound wisdom from Friday's Artist while incorporating the skills they have learned throughout the week and showcasing each camper's unique talents and skills. Authorized friends and family members are invited to attend the performance at 3:30. It is the culmination of a truly remarkable week!

We believe in the vital importance of arts education! No child should be turned away from arts education due to a family's ability to pay. We offer 20-90% scholarships (parent/guardian will be responsible for the balance) based on camper loads and funds availability. Scholarships are reviewed on a first-come, first-considered basis.

Our Faculty
Each faculty member is an artist and/or educator in visual arts, music, theater, or dance. Many have a strong history with 360 Arts Camp, including a few who started as campers.
Health & Safety
Our motto is "safety first." Therefore, we require that all campers, Counselors, faculty, and staff be fully vaccinated. If a camper develops an illness, they will be safely isolated until a parent can pick them up. However, parents must keep their phones on and respond quickly to pick up their camper within 30 minutes of a detected illness.
